Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get a CD

All sessions include digital images in the price, as well as a personal print release.
Images will be available for digital download and include a hi-res version for
printing and a web-sized version for any online sharing. USBs are also available for purchase.

Do you require a deposit

Yes – I’ll send a PayPal invoice for the $200 non-refundable deposit at time of booking, along
with our session contract and session questionnaire. Deposit is applied towards session balance,
which is due day of session via cash, check or PayPal.

What if it rains

As we know, Florida is known to rain one minute and grace us with beautiful sunshine the next!
Thankfully, most rain showers tend to blow over before sunset, which is when sessions take place.
I keep a close eye on forecast changes each day, and will communicate any expected changes
with you. Should it rain during our scheduled time, I will do my best to reschedule our session at
sunset (or sunrise) based on mutual availability.

Can we start early

I understand sunrise and sunset times aren’t always ideal, particularly given that they change throughout
the year and don’t always work seamlessly with family routines. I carefully calculate and recommend start
times due to the sensitive nature of lighting and the affects it has on our photos!
I strive to provide the very best quality to each of my clients at all of our sessions. All the beach
photos you’ll see on my website were taken at either sunrise or sunset. Pushing too much into
the late morning or earlier afternoon is really rolling the dice, and for that reason alone I only shoot at
those times. It’s not always the most convenient for my family schedule either, but it provides the
most gorgeous images to my clients and that’s the #1 priority for every session!

What should we wear

Ahhh! The biggest challenge of all! I recommend doing some online research, but here are a few tips:
– Stick with your family’s personal style! Be yourselves, be comfortable.
– Pick one or two base colors and build from there. Mix and match patterns and solids.
(Navy is one of my personal favorites.) The key is coordinating but not “matching”.
– Stay away from vibrant/neon colors, as well as reds, yellows and greens as base colors. They can negatively affect skin tones.
-Layer! Consider adding layers and accessory pieces (statement necklaces, scarves, floral crowns, etc).
– Stay away from clothing with wording, logos, breast pockets, or other distractions.
– Ladies, be prepared to pin back your hair if necessary – some days are breezier than others!
I am happy to create style boards, make personalized clothing recommendations, and discuss ideas
with you until we feel that you have the perfect outfit for our session!

How long before photos ready

I want to have your photos ready for viewing just as soon as you do!
Turn around time varies throughout the year, but averages 1-3 weeks. I appreciate your patience!

Do you have print lab recommendation

Yes! I recommend ordering online via www.mpix.com. MPix is definitely the best value for the price
and offers near professional print quality. All print labs are NOT the same, and I do not recommend
Walgreens, CVS, Sam’s Club, Walmart or other chain stores. If you’re interested in the highest quality
long-lasting prints and canvases, please email me for a copy of my price list.

Mini Sessions

I typically offer family mini sessions once per year, usually a day in October or November, just in time for Christmas cards.
There are a limited number of sessions available and they book up quickly.

Props

Generally speaking, no. My sessions are designed to focus on my favorite subject: people!
Occasionally I will bring a blanket or quilt, but aside from that I like to keep my sessions free of props.
If you choose to bring a prop or two, I would recommend a quilt, small family heirloom or item of emotional significance.
